The Modern Decorative Marble originated in Italy. In the past 100 years, the marble polishing job has to rely on using chemicals such as oxalic acid to bring out a crystal-finish surface. But now, due to water pollution and the risk to the worker's body, to find a greener, healthier, more environmentally-friendly and sustainable solution is not just a slogan anymore. So EZshine(Ashine) spent 10 years to explore the Marble Mechcanical Polishing Technology.

The Background and History of R&D

Ten years ago (about 2010), a Hongkong customer asked us at the Xiamen Stone Fair, "Your concrete polishing pad is good enough, but can you develop a marble polishing pad which can polish the floor to 90-100 gloss meters with water only, no chemical required?

"Based on our understanding of the market at the time, however, we thought it was impossible. Even though, our R&D team still did a comprehensive comparison test on the existing marble polishing pads from all over the world. We want to know how many gloss meters can be reached if we don't use polishing chemicals but water only.

It was found that the gloss of Made-in-China was 15-20 gloss meters and the Made-in-Japan was 30-40 gloss meters but the Made-in-Italy was 40- 50 gloss meters.

The Initial goal

With the comparison data, we believe the goal of 100% mechanical polishing on marble is possible to be accomplished. Our primary R&D goal is to catch up with Japan in three years and Italy in five years. In this process, we constantly sent the products to foreign markets for testing.

In November 2014, in the case of polishing with water only, during the on-site test with our clients, we saw the marble gloss meter reaches 100. In the following exhibitions at Verona Stone Fair, we took the marble polishing pads for live demonstrations. Many visitors did not believe that we did not use chemical agents, so we advise them to fetch the water and polish on their own. The result is the same good as we did before so they're shocked.

The Mshine Marble Pad

Since 2015, we started to make a new marble polishing pad for trial sales in China market, but we found that there are still some problems. So we kept correcting, testing and upgrading... In 2019, the Final Generation of 100% Mechanical Marble Polishing Pad - Mshine Marble Pad is developed.

It can averagely achieve 80-110 gloss meter, 90-99 clarity on marble, no chemicals required and no orange peels left, which also prevent the damage to the workers' health and in China, our pad can also help to employ workers.

With a one-year effort from 2019 to 2020, in 2021, we finally get the Invention Patent! It's a great recognization for our innovation capacity.
